Offering BSCS, BSIT, and the Associate in Computer Technology (ACT-CS & ACT-IT) — the ACT is the foundational 2-year pathway: ACT-CS leads to BSCS, and ACT-IT leads to BSIT, giving students multiple pathways to a career in computing.
14 CCS students passed the October 2024 PhilNITS examination, demonstrating the department's commitment to nationally recognized IT competency standards.

2004
The College of Computer Studies was formally established at Saint Joseph College, Maasin City — offering computing programs that would grow to serve students across Southern Leyte.
2008
CCS expanded its academic offerings with the introduction of the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science program, allowing students to pursue deeper specialization in algorithms, theory, and software engineering.
2013
CCS students claimed first place at the Regional Intercollegiate Programming Contest, putting the department on the competitive computing map and validating its rigorous curriculum and hands-on training approach.
2018
Both BSCS and BSIT programs were awarded Level III Accreditation — the highest recognition for academic quality in the region — affirming the department's commitment to excellence in instruction and research.
2022
CCS formalized partnerships with regional companies, creating direct pathways for student OJT placements and capstone project sponsorships — enriching the practical training experience of students.
2024
In October 2024, 14 CCS students passed the Philippine National IT Standards (PhilNITS) IT Passport Exam held at the college’s Audio-Visual Room. Notably, part-time faculty member Mr. Jonathan F. Tse, MBA earned the highest score among all 1,612 examinees across 6 ITPEC member countries — a landmark achievement for the department.
